I am assisting my parents with a new Windows 10 laptop. They have forgotten the password that was setup for the account showing on the laptop. After going here to Microsoft. I am trying to log in with the correct id but I am not seeing an option on the login screen to enter a different user id. How can I reach this option. Was this reply helpful?

Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. The problem we’re having is we don’t know the password for the “wrong” email so therefore we don’t have access inside of Windows I was able to register the incorrect email and gain access to their computer. I then updated their Microsoft account with the correct password.

You can change the microsoft account on your laptop : – log in the computer, using the “wrong” email adress – go to settings – accounts Select the option to go with “local account” Then you should be able to add another microsoft account, with the correct email adress this time.
