– Steps to Fix Send/Receive Error in MS Outlook or Outlook Express
I’ve been using Outlook since last summer with no problems. One account has around 50 MB. The other has 1. Recently, I started encountering some problems with outlook. It seems to take a long time to send some messages. They hang around in the outbox for quite a while, but after a few minutes, they disappear.
I am able to verify that they did get sent, because they appear in the sent folder. I can see them using both Outlook and webmail. When Outlook first starts, it attempts to synchronize the two accounts. It displays “synchronizing inbox” and “sending message 2 of 3”. It’s able to send and receive the first account and receive the second account, but not send the second account.
Here are screen captures of the progress:. A few minutes later, it tries again to synchronize the inbox, but it now it says “sending message 1 of 2”. This also result in an error. Note what appears to be chinese characters in the error message from the server. I don’t have a chinese ISP, so this is strange. What I find strange is that there are no messages in the outbox to be sent, so I’m not clear what messages it’s trying to send. None of the suggestions made any difference, so I deleted the profile and recreated it.
After synchronizing, both accounts worked properly for a few days, then the problem returned. I’d like to find out the cause and hopefully fix it. To verify this, we may try to contact the support of the antivirus software or antispam scanners and disable the email scanning to see the result. Also, make sure your firewall is allowing the scanner software to connect to the Internet. In addition, have you tried increasing the timeout setting to see the result? To do this, please follow:.
If you have feedback for TechNet Subscriber Support, contact tnmff microsoft. I disabled it and there was no difference. I also disabled the firewall and there was no difference. The timeout was at the default value. I tried increasing it and it makes no difference. I ran scanpst. It said there were errors so I repaired it. I ran it multiple times until finally it showed this message:. I wonder if the reference of 3 vs 2 relates to the “sending 2 of 3”.
In any case, it doesn’t matter, because it there doesn’t seem to be any way to repair the file. I ran the tool on the pst for the other account and it was okay. I ran the tool on the pst for the storage folders and it reported numerous errors. I ran it several times to the point where it says the errors are minor and the repair is optional, but it also wasn’t displaying the repair button.
The error 0xCCC0F you are getting may be because of the following: 1. An antivirus e-mail protection utility enabled, which checks the mail as it comes in from your Post Office Protocol POP server, 2. ISP is blocking port 25 or 3.
Might be due to Personal firewall installed. There are few manual ways to solve this issue, some of them are as follows: 1. Disable Anti-virus 2. Remove temporary files from Temporary Folder 3. This problem has returned. I have a good idea what caused it, but no idea how to fix it. Previously, when I deleted and recreated the profile, it worked fine for several months. Then I received an email which was sent with a request for a read receipt. I approved the read receipt, but outlook seemed to have an error trying to send it.
Now, when I start outlook, it initially displays “synchronizing inbox, sending message 2 of 2”, then has an error. If I try to send and receive again, it displays “sending message 1 of 1” then has a different error. This must be a bug in outlook. It’s possible to send and receive emails normally and there are no messages in the outbox. However, it seems to be trying to send a “phantom” read receipt or something.
Is there a way to report this to Microsoft? Is there a way to fix this aside from deleting the profile? The inbox repair tool does not repair this problem. I tried running scanpst again. The result was the same.
It fixed a few issues, complained about some other issues without providing any indication what is causing them or how to fix them, but didn’t fix the problem, so I deleted the profile and I’m in the process of recreating it. I’m using office and it’s not like I’m trying to do something complicated. SMTP was invented in and hasn’t been updated since It’s pretty incredible that after so many versions of outlook have been released, it still has bugs supporting a 35 year old protocol.
How is it that outlook is trying to send emails, when there are no emails in the outbox? It generates detailed error messages, but offers no way to fix the errors or even find out what’s causing them.
How is it that scanpst reports cryptic error messages, but again, offers no way to fix the errors or even find out what’s causing them? On top of all of this, Microsoft offers no way for users to report problems such as this so they can be fixed. One more thing.
I read today that Microsoft intends to pursue AI since they failed in mobile. Okay Microsoft, you can’t write an application to send email using a protocol from the stone age, but you want to develop AI applications Office Office Exchange Server. Not an IT pro?

I made no configuration changes when this problem started to occur. Thursday, January 5, PM. I’ll give that a try, but it seems to be a band-aid. After I deleted the profile and recreated it, the pst was new and the problem wasn’t occurring.
A couple of days later, the problem returned.
